About the fiber

The twisted abaca weft and silk warp are meticulously handwoven on a traditional loom. Abaca is a champion of sustainable development. Its cultivation helps improve soil water retention and prevents floods and landslides. Abaca waste is used as organic fertilizer for crops. Moreover, no deforestation occurs. The banana plant is not uprooted; the trunk is cut forty centimeters from the ground, and the plant regrows in two years. Trees are spread naturally across the landscape, not planted for intensive production.

BOTANICAL WEAVE WALLCOVERING

A true tribute to weaving, where the clear and tactile expression of craftsmanship with Japanese-inspired finesse comes to life. Mats, checkerboard weaves, and two-material marquetry bring palm, bamboo, and abaca to life in a unique way, subtly evoking shoji screens and kakemonos. Through natural tones, as well as sumptuous shades of blue and black, the raw beauty of the fibers is revealed and elevated.
